Shimla:
After a brief spell of dry weather, conditions in Himachal Pradesh are expected to shift with a fresh western disturbance becoming active from October 4.

According to the Meteorological Department, most parts of the state are likely to witness rain over the next few days, with widespread showers expected on October 6.

Rain and snowfall forecast

Light to moderate rainfall is predicted in the lower and mid-hill regions on October 4 and 5. Higher reaches of Lahaul-Spiti and surrounding districts may also experience light snowfall. The department has further warned of winds blowing at 30-40 km per hour in several areas during this period.

Above-normal temperatures to ease

Until October 3, the weather will remain clear across the state, keeping daytime temperatures higher than normal. Currently, Una has recorded the highest temperature at 35.8°C, followed by Bilaspur at 34.5°C. In at least 13 towns, mercury levels are running above 30°C, with Kalpa, Dharamshala and Bilaspur reporting a rise of over 3°C compared to the average. A slight drop in temperatures is expected once rain begins from October 4.

Pleasant weather at tourist spots

Despite the unusual warmth in plains and mid-hills, popular tourist destinations like Shimla, Manali, Kasauli, Narkanda, Kufri and Dalhousie are currently enjoying pleasant weather, with temperatures ranging between 20°C and 30°C, making them ideal getaways for visitors.
