Second murder in Shimla suburb Theog in a week, JCB driver from Sundernagar done to death

A second *murder in a week has been reported from Theog subdivision in Shimla district of Himachal Pradesh.
Ravi Kumar (35), a resident of Nalot in Sundernagar subdivision of Mandi district, was brutally *murdered on Monday (April 7, 2025) evening in the Sainj area of Theog.


Sources said the incident took place at Bhutka Mod in Sainj where the accused, identified as Anil, a 24-year-old resident of Arki in Solan district, runs a mechanic workshop.

Victim was frequent visitor to shop of accused

Ravi, who was a frequent visitor to the workshop, arrived at the shop around 5 pm on Monday.
Shortly after, a commotion was heard from the workshop and when a local resident, Kuldeep Singh, stepped outside, he found Anil engaged in a heated phone conversation while Ravi was lying on the floor, bleeding heavily near a crate beside the shop’s shutter.


Ravi succumbed to his injuries despite being rushed to the Theog hospital. A forensic team was called to the scene and crucial evidence was collected for further investigation.

Main suspected arrested

Anil, the main suspect, was later arrested by the police. Preliminary investigations revealed that Anil attacked Ravi with tools from his workshop, resulting in fatal injuries.


Police officials said the body of the deceased was sent for post-mortem at the Theog hospital before being handed over to his family.


The *murder follows a similar incident in Theog a few days ago, sparking concern among residents of the area.
