Speaker of Himachal Pradesh Assembly Attends Conclusion of Mandhaur Nag Jatra Fair in Chamba

Speaker of the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly, Kuldeep Singh Pathania, participated as the chief guest in the concluding ceremony of the eight-day Mandhaur Nag Jatra Fair held at Kuthed village near the sub-divisional headquarters of Chuwari.

During the ceremony, Pathania offered prayers to Vintru Nag and Mandhaur Nag, seeking peace and prosperity for the people of the state. He announced a contribution of ₹25,000 to the temple management committee from his discretionary fund. In recognition of his presence and support, the committee honored him with a traditional shawl and cap.

The region holds deep reverence for Nag worship. Every year, on the third day of the Jatra, Vintru Nag travels from Priungal village to meet his brother Mandhaur Nag in Kuthed, marking the beginning of the fair that spans eight days and celebrates local traditions and spiritual heritage.

Prior to the ceremony, the Speaker visited several disaster-affected villages to assess the well-being of residents and distributed ₹1.45 lakh in relief aid to affected families. He also held a public grievance session at the Public Works Department Rest House in Chuwari, resolving many issues on the spot and forwarding others to concerned departments for timely action.

The event was attended by a large number of local residents and dignitaries, including Chela Krishan Chand (Board Member, State Forest Corporation), Surendra Chadak (Vice President, Nagar Panchayat), Rajiv Kaushal (Former General Secretary, District Congress Committee), SDM Paras Agrawal, DSP Yograj, DFO Rajneesh Mahajan, Executive Engineer Rakesh Thakur, Narendra Chaudhary, BDO Anil Gurda, and Sher Singh (Deputy Head, Temple Committee), along with representatives from Panchayati Raj institutions and various government departments.
