In a tragic road accident in Himachal Pradesh’s Kangra district on Friday (August 15, 2025) morning, a pickup vehicle carrying pilgrims plunged into a gorge, leaving four persons dead and around 20 to 25 injured. All the deceased were pilgrims from Punjab.
According to the police, the accident occurred at around 7.29 am when the YOL police post received information that a pickup truck had met with an accident near Balle Hotel, close to Ikku Mor on the Chamunda-Dharamshala road.

Initial reports suggest that one woman died on the spot, while three others, including one woman and two men, succumbed to injuries during treatment at Dr Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College and Hospital, Tanda.
The injured, many of whom sustained serious injuries, were rushed to nearby hospitals, with some being referred to Tanda Medical College for advanced treatment.
The police have registered a case and are investigating the cause of the accident, while local authorities and rescue teams swiftly carried out relief operations at the scene.
