Himachal Congress forms 32-member jumbo team for byelection to Assembly seats, each to be headed by minister

The Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee has formed a 32-member jumbo team to look after the party’s campaign in the six Assembly seats where the crucial June 1 byelections will decide the fate of the Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu government.

In each of the six seats, the teams will be headed by ministers while Chief Parliamentary Secretaries, MLAs and block committee-level leaders have been designated as members. The teams have been constituted by Himachal Congress president Pratibha Singh following the approval of the party’s state in-charge Rajeev Shukla.

Minister Chander Kumar has been made in-charge for Dharamshala Assembly constituency. He will be assisted by MLAs Ashish Butail, RS Bali and Kewal Pathania and Kangra District Congress Committee (DCC) chief Karan Pathania and Block Congress Committee (BCC) president Harbhajan Chaudhary.

In Una district’s Gagret seat, Harshwardhan Chauhan is the minister in-charge with MLAs Malender Rajan and Sudarshan Babloo, and DCC chief Ranjeet Rana and BCC chief Surinder Kanwar as members of the team.

In Una district’s Kutlehar, minister Rohit Thakur and Anirudh Singh will be the in-charge while MLAs Bhawani Singh Pathania and Neeraj Naiyar and DCC chief Ranjeet Rana and BCC chief Vivek Minka have been attached with them.

Minister Jagat Singh is the in-charge in Lahaul-Spiti with MLAs Sunder Thakur and Bhuvaneshwar Gaur, and DCC chief Gialsen Thakur, BCC Kaza chief Ram Singh, Keylong BCC chief Ramesh Kumar and Udaipur BCC president Devi Singh Thakur deployed along with him.

In Sujanpur seat of Hamirpur district, minister Yadavinder Goma is the in-charge while MLAs Chander Shekhar and Suresh Kumar, DCC chief Suman Bharti and BCC working president Rajender Verma are team members.

In Hamirpur’s Barsar, minister Rajesh Dharmani will head the team with MLAs Kishori Lal and Sanjay Ratan its members along with DCC chief Suman Bharti and BCC working president Sanjay Sharma.
