Dharamshala: Nardev Kanwar, the chairman of the Himachal Pradesh Building and Construction Workers Board, reflected on the remarkable journey of Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, spanning four decades of relentless struggle and steadfast leadership.
Kanwar told media persons here on April 4 that the collective gathering present at the event stood as a testament to the unwavering support garnered by Chief Minister Sukhu throughout his journey. He attributed much of Sukhu’s success to the collaborative efforts with Congress leader Chaudhary Chandra Kumar and former MP Viplav Thakur, which played a pivotal role in securing victories for the party.
During the conference, Kanwar pointed out attempts by the opposition, particularly the BJP, to delay crucial infrastructure projects like the construction of Central University Kangra (CUK). He squarely blamed the BJP for the delays in CUK’s construction, holding them entirely responsible for the setbacks.
Talking about the upcoming Lok Sabha and Assembly by-elections, Kanwar assured that the Congress party would swiftly announce its candidates. He also promised to address the demands put forth by various trade unions, ensuring their grievances are resolved once the election process concludes and the Model Code of Conduct is lifted.
Moreover, Kanwar highlighted the importance of prioritizing the registration of laborers under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) at the village level, ensuring their welfare remains a top priority for the government.
