Himachal AAP spokesperson Manish Sarin, others resign from party citing ‘neglect’ by Arvind Kejriwal

Chamba: In a significant development, Manish Sarin, the Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) Himachal Pradesh spokesperson, along with several grassroots workers, have resigned from the party’s primary membership, accusing the central leadership of ignoring the state unit and failing to provide strategic support.

Addressing a press conference, Manish Sarin expressed dismay over Himachal Pradesh’s exclusion from the agenda of AAP’s Political Affairs Committee (PAC) meeting held in Delhi on March 21.
“A day before the PAC meeting, our state delegation met the national secretary to discuss strengthening AAP in Himachal. Yet, the high-level meeting had no mention of our state. This neglect is unacceptable,” Sarin stated.

Zero recognition for 12 years of struggle, claims Sarin

Sarin highlighted that despite 12 years of relentless efforts by local workers, AAP’s central leadership has consistently sidelined Himachal Pradesh.

He alleged that after the setback in the Delhi Assembly elections, the state unit sought a meeting with national convener Arvind Kejriwal but received no acknowledgment.

Sarin said AAP had contested all 67 seats in Himachal but lacked central support, leading to poor results.
“Our workers sacrificed resources and time, but the top leadership only offered neglect. If this continues, AAP’s future here is bleak,” he warned.

Ultimatum to central leadership

Sarin urged the party to immediately address Himachal’s concerns, cautioning that further delays could lead to more exits.
“We are not demanding the moon, just basic attention. If ignored now, it may be too late to revive AAP in Himachal,” he said.
