Dharamshala — Torrential rains lashed Bagni Panchayat on Tuesday night, triggering significant damage across the region. According to Panchayat head Suresh Kumar, multiple roads were blocked, livestock shelters were destroyed, and residential areas were inundated.
Damage Overview:
- Road Blockages: Two to three key routes were obstructed due to landslides and waterlogging, severely affecting local mobility.
- Structural Losses: Two cattle sheds and one house suffered extensive damage, leaving families in distress.
- Urban Flooding: Water overflowed near Karmapa Gate and Red Carpet Hotel, flooding nearby shops and homes and causing property loss.
Administrative Response: Local resident Devinder Jaggi has formally notified the Public Works Department (PWD) about the situation. Relief efforts are underway, with authorities working to clear debris and restore access.
Statewide Impact: Heavy rainfall has been reported across Himachal Pradesh, with similar incidents of damage surfacing from other districts. The administration remains on high alert, monitoring conditions and coordinating emergency services.
