In a celebration of youthful imagination and artistic expression, Green Field Senior Secondary School, Nagrota Bagwan (Kangra), inaugurated a vibrant and inspirational art exhibition titled “Kalakriti” at the iconic Nicholas Roerich Art Gallery.
The three-day exhibition, running from May 25 to May 27, 2025, showcases the creativity and perspectives of budding student artists, while also paying tribute to the profound artistic legacy of Nicholas Roerich.
This thoughtfully curated exhibition brings together original works by 16 student artists from Green Field School alongside pieces inspired by the life and philosophy of the celebrated Russian painter and spiritual thinker, Nicholas Roerich.
The initiative stands as a unique educational and artistic endeavour aimed at fostering a deeper connection with Himalayan heritage and values through visual arts.
The participating student artists include Suryansh, Saransh, Lakshya Thakur, Divij Shandilya, Sanchit, Pranav Kharwal, Divanshu, Shraddhul Dogra, Daksh Mehta, Angel Jamwal, Prachi Sharma, Pratyaksha Mishra, Vanshika Rana, Sanshika, Shaanvi Walia and Navya.
The artworks span across paintings, sketches and mixed media, each reflecting the students’ interpretations of Himalayan landscapes, cultural identity and spiritual heritage, all inspired by Roerich’s artistic vision.
The event was organised under the leadership of Principal Sudhanshu Sharma, whose support and vision made the exhibition possible. The conceptualisation and direction of “Kalakriti” were driven by the school’s dedicated faculty members, including Akshay Chaudhary, Viveka Sharma and Ajnesh Kumar, who mentored the students and curated the showcase with great care.
The exhibition was graced by Dr Karan Jeet, Block Medical Officer, as the chief guest. Widely respected for his service in public health, Dr Karan Jeet praised the young artists for their depth and originality. He was joined by Dr Jyoti Sharma, Medical Officer), as the guest of honour, whose dedication to healthcare and community service inspired both faculty and students alike. Both dignitaries jointly inaugurated the exhibition and interacted with the student artists, offering words of encouragement and appreciation.
