Grand Nagni Mata Jatar Fair Celebrated with Enthusiasm in Khole Village, Sirdi Amid Monsoon Hopes

A vibrant celebration unfolded in Khole village of the tribal Pulan Panchayat in Bharmaur on Saturday as locals gathered for the annual Nagni Mata Jatar fair. The event took place at the revered Nagni Mata Temple and was marked by spiritual fervor, traditional customs, and community participation — all held under the hopeful skies anticipating monsoon rains.

The fair drew special attention with the presence of Bharmaur BJP Mandal President Angrej Kapoor as chief guest. He was joined by Pulan Panchayat Pradhan Anita Kapoor and Vice Pradhan Sunil Dutt, who also took part in the proceedings and extended their support to the community-driven event.

A highlight of the celebration was the spirited Kaudi competition, which saw enthusiastic participation from local teams. The Sirdi team clinched the first position, while Gahra village secured the second place. The winning team was awarded a cash prize of ₹5,100, while the runners-up received ₹2,100 — adding a layer of friendly rivalry and joy to the festivities.

The event stood as a testament to local traditions, with villagers dressed in vibrant attire and rituals performed to honor Nagni Mata, a revered deity believed to protect and bless the community. The atmosphere echoed with folk music and regional flavors, creating an aura of unity and celebration.

Local residents expressed satisfaction over the successful execution of the fair and highlighted its cultural significance in preserving ancestral customs. Organizers praised the collective spirit of the villagers and their dedication in organizing such a grand occasion.
