Mandi: Youth aspiring for overseas employment will get an opportunity at a foreign job recruitment camp scheduled to be held at Mandi in Himachal Pradesh on December 18. The recruitment drive is being organised through the state labour, employment and overseas placement department in collaboration with Himachal Pradesh State Electronics Development Corporation (HPSEDC) and JSDC Group of Companies.
Regional employment officer Akshay Kumar said candidates willing to appear for interviews must complete prior registration, failing which they will not be allowed to participate. Possession of a valid passport is mandatory.
Applicants have been asked to carry their passport, driving licence, resume, educational certificates, two passport-size photographs and employment exchange registration certificate on the day of the interview.
Delivery agent posts offer high earnings
For the post of delivery agents, selected candidates will be offered a monthly salary of 2,500 dirhams along with commission and tips, taking total monthly earnings to nearly Rs 70,000 to Rs 1 lakh. The duty schedule will be 10 hours a day, six days a week, with morning and evening shifts.
The minimum qualification for these posts is Class X, along with basic knowledge of English. Applicants should be between 20 and 37 years of age and must hold a valid geared motorcycle driving licence with at least one year’s validity. Facial or neck tattoos are not permitted and colour blindness will not be accepted. Clean shave is mandatory, though turbans are allowed, with helmets compulsory while riding.
An UAE driving licence will be issued after deployment. For this, a total fee of 5,500 dirhams will be charged — 1,000 dirhams at the time of departure and the remaining amount in nine monthly instalments deducted from salary.
Warehouse helper vacancies also available
The camp will also recruit warehouse helpers, who will be paid 1,400 dirhams per month (around Rs 33,500), along with free accommodation and transport. Duty hours will be 12 hours a day, six days a week. These posts are open to male candidates aged between 21 and 30 years, with a minimum qualification of Class X and basic English proficiency.
The employment officer said selected candidates will have to pay Rs 35,400 (including GST) as government-approved charges to the Union ministry of external affairs, along with Rs 1,500 towards medical examination.
