Bhatiyat (Chamba) : Chaos erupted in Sel village, Nainikhad Panchayat, as two cowsheds belonging to daily wage workers Kalu Ram and Gyan Chand were suddenly engulfed in flames early Sunday morning. The incident occurred around 5 AM, leaving villagers shocked as they spotted thick smoke and blazing flames.
Despite swift intervention by locals, the fire spread rapidly, reducing both cowsheds to ashes within minutes. Fortunately, the families had released their cattle for grazing just before the blaze erupted, preventing any loss of livestock. However, stored fodder and essential supplies were completely destroyed, deepening the families’ distress.
Upon hearing the news, Panchayat Pradhan Kamlesh Rana rushed to the site, took stock of the situation, and promptly notified the local revenue officer for necessary action. Authorities have provided ₹5,000 as immediate relief to each affected family.
The cause of the fire remains unknown, leaving villagers baffled as to how two separate cowsheds caught fire simultaneously. Further investigation is expected to determine the possible reason behind the incident.
