Fire breaks out in Shimla car showroom, spare parts worth ₹40 lakh gutted

SHIMLA: A fire broke out in a car showroom in Himachal Pradesh capital Shimla’s ISBT early on Wednesday (February 7, 2024). Spare parts worth about Rs 40 lakh were burnt in the fire while three vehicles were also partially damaged.

The fire broke out around 4.30 am in the car showroom located at the ISBT in Tutikandi near Shimla. The flames engulfed the showroom within no time, leading to panic among the people nearby.

Information about the fire was given to the police and fire brigade and as soon as the information was received, fire tenders from Boileauganj, Chhota Shimla and Mall Road reached the spot. Around Rs 40 lakh worth of spare parts of vehicles kept in the showroom were burnt in the fire. Apart from this, two new vehicles were damaged. The police team reached the spot and is taking stock of the cause of the fire and the damage.
