A new controversy erupted in the Dehra region when the office of the Superintendent of Police received a complaint regarding illegal mining, allegedly in the name of BJP leader Dr. Sukrit Sagar. The complaint was forwarded to Haripur Police Station and a similar one was sent to the Mining Department, which officials passed on without verification.
The matter escalated when Dr. Sukrit Sagar clarified that he had not submitted any such complaint and that the letters did not bear his signature. He strongly objected to the misuse of his name, calling it a deliberate attempt to tarnish his political image.
Dr. Sagar stated, “This is a well-planned conspiracy to damage my reputation. Such incidents reflect the declining standards of politics, where instead of public service and issue-based debate, efforts are made to harm personal image. Sending false complaints in my name is a fraudulent act aimed at undermining my social and political standing. But I will not be intimidated by such conspiracies.”
He has formally lodged a complaint at Haripur Police Station against unknown individuals and demanded strict legal action. Dr. Sagar urged the administration to conduct a fair investigation, identify those responsible, and ensure exemplary punishment.
