According to Kanwar, the latest call—received late Saturday night—included not only explicit warnings but also personal details of his family, raising serious concerns about his and his family’s security.
While the former minister initially brushed off the anonymous calls, the increasingly specific and menacing nature of the threats compelled him to approach the police. The complaint includes the phone number from which the threats originated. The police have initiated an investigation to trace the caller and determine the motive behind the intimidation.
This incident, however, is not an isolated case. Over the past year, Himachal Pradesh has witnessed a worrying trend of threats and intimidation targeted at prominent individuals, suggesting a deeper breakdown in the state’s internal security.
