Rose Public School, Sulyali, marked World Population Day with a grand essay writing competition. Students from Classes IX to XII enthusiastically participated, presenting their thoughts on pressing issues such as rising population, population control, environmental conservation, and sustainable development.
This year’s World Population Day 2026 theme was “Realizing the hopes and aspirations of young people: Today and for the Future.” Keeping this in mind, students highlighted the role of youth in shaping society, the importance of education, health, gender equality, and maintaining population balance through their essays.
Principal Mr. Sanjay Souguni, in his inspiring address, emphasized that unchecked population growth poses a serious challenge to the world. He cautioned that without timely control, it could adversely affect natural resources, education, healthcare, and employment. He urged students to spread awareness and become responsible citizens.
Vice Principal Mrs. Babita Souguni added that the purpose of World Population Day is not only to discuss population growth but also to empower youth by creating an environment where their dreams and aspirations can flourish. She encouraged students to actively participate in such awareness programs and spread positive messages in society.
The event concluded with appreciation for all participants. The school administration praised the students’ outstanding performances, awarded them for their efforts, and motivated them to continue engaging in socially significant and nationally important programs. The entire teaching staff was present on the occasion.
