Himachal Pradesh School Education Board Chairman Dr. Rajesh Sharma announced important changes in eligibility criteria and application deadlines for the upcoming Screening Test–2026 related to deputation in the CBSE sub-cadre. The amendments have been made in accordance with directions from the Directorate of School Education, Himachal Pradesh, to ensure the availability of qualified and experienced teachers.
Key Changes in Eligibility
- Principal Post Relaxation: The minimum residual service requirement for eligibility to the post of Principal has been reduced from three years to two years. This will allow more experienced teachers to be considered for the position.
- Applicable Only to Principals: The relaxation applies exclusively to the Principal post. All other eligibility conditions and the screening/selection process remain unchanged.
- Mandatory Certification: Eligible teachers must submit a valid in-service certificate issued by the competent authority.
Extended Application Timeline
- The last date for submitting online applications without late fee has been extended to March 5, 2026.
- A correction window for already submitted applications will be open from March 6 to March 7, 2026.
Dr. Sharma urged all eligible teachers to take advantage of the revised criteria and extended dates, ensuring timely submission of applications along with necessary documents. He reiterated the Board’s commitment to providing opportunities to qualified and experienced educators, thereby strengthening academic quality in CBSE-affiliated government schools across Himachal Pradesh.
