Dhauladhar Public Senior Secondary School, Sham Nagar, Dharamshala, celebrated its annual function with great enthusiasm and cultural fervour. This year’s programme was based on the theme “Gita Saar”, highlighting the timeless teachings of the Bhagavad Gita through meaningful performances.
DIG Soumya Sambasivan graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, while Bhawan Sharma, Principal of Government Senior Secondary School, Dari, attended as the Special Guest. The programme commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, followed by Saraswati Vandana.
Students Present Messages of the Gita and Mahabharata
Students of the school presented a series of cultural performances depicting the essence of the Bhagavad Gita and episodes from the Mahabharata. The portrayal of Lord Vishnu’s avatars, the dialogue between Arjuna and Lord Krishna during the Mahabharata war, and the magnificent presentation of Lord Krishna’s Vishwaroop captivated the audience and earned widespread appreciation.
Through these performances, students effectively conveyed moral values, duty, devotion, and the importance of righteous action.

Messages from the Dignitaries
Addressing the gathering, Special Guest Bhawan Sharma said that the Gita teaches mankind to focus on performing one’s duties sincerely without being attached to the outcome.
Chief Guest Soumya Sambasivan, in her address, emphasized that the Bhagavad Gita inspires people to move forward with calmness and clarity. She said that individuals should surrender their minds to God, avoid hatred, and live in the present without worrying about the past or the future. She praised the students for their impressive performances and congratulated the teachers for their dedicated efforts in guiding them.
Meritorious Students Honoured
On the occasion, Khushi, who secured second position in the state in the Class 12 Science stream examination conducted by the Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education, was honoured by the Chief Guest with a memento and blessings for a bright future. Other meritorious students of the school were also felicitated with mementoes.
Management Expresses Gratitude
School Managing Director Vishwabhanu Duttwalia honoured the Chief Guest and Special Guest with mementoes and expressed gratitude to all dignitaries, parents, teachers and students for making the annual function a grand success.
The event concluded on a high note, leaving the audience inspired by the spiritual and cultural essence of the Bhagavad Gita.
