Dharamshala: Congress national secretary and Dhsramshala MLA Sudhir Sharma inaugurated 10 hand pumps and 6 tube wells in Saukani Da Kot, Mohli, on Wednesday.
On the occasion, Sharma affirmed his commitment to fulfill the promise made to the public, ensuring sufficient water supply during winters.
He stated that the installation of these hand pumps and tube wells, costing over Rs 1.70 crore, will alleviate the water scarcity in these areas. The water department will oversee the execution of this project.
Sharma said that complaints about malfunctioning motors in hand pumps from several villages have been received, and prompt action will be taken to address them.
He directed senior officials of the water department to compile a list of such locations and promptly repair the motors. In response to his directives, several old hand pumps have already been repaired in many villages.
Sharma emphasized the need to immediately revive irrigation and drinking water schemes that were discontinued in Dharamshala constituency.
Following the events in Saukani Da Kot and Mohli, Sharma laid the foundation stones for community centers in Tang Narwana panchayat and Kashmiri Colony, Dadi. During the visit, he also listened to the grievances of the locals and resolved most issues on the spot, forwarding some to departmental authorities for further action.
