In the wake of widespread destruction caused by recent natural disasters, Deputy Commissioner Apoorva Devgan set out on a field visit to assess the extent of damage in the Siraj Assembly constituency. His visit began with a detailed inspection of the affected areas in Bara village, where landslides and flash floods have disrupted normal life and damaged infrastructure.
Early Tuesday morning, the Deputy Commissioner reached Khayogi, one of the worst-hit regions, to oversee ongoing relief operations. Accompanied by senior district officials and disaster management personnel, Devgan interacted with local residents, listened to their concerns, and reviewed the distribution of essential supplies including food, water, and medical aid.
During the visit, he emphasized the importance of swift rehabilitation and directed officials to expedite the restoration of roads, electricity, and communication lines. “Our priority is to ensure that every affected family receives timely assistance and that no one is left behind,” he stated.

The administration has already deployed multiple teams from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and Public Works Department (PWD) to clear debris and restore connectivity. Temporary shelters have been set up for displaced families, and medical camps are being organized to prevent the outbreak of waterborne diseases.
Devgan also instructed local authorities to maintain constant communication with village representatives to monitor evolving needs and ensure transparency in relief distribution. He assured the public that the district administration is fully committed to supporting recovery efforts and rebuilding affected communities.
The Himachal Pradesh government has urged residents in vulnerable areas to remain alert, as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast continued rainfall in the region.
