Una : A week-long Shrimad Bhagavat Mahapuran Katha will be held in Gondpur from June 23 to 29, 2025, under the stewardship of Dr. Aastha Agnihotri, daughter of Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri. The event, organized at the Community Centre opposite Centre Point, aims to commemorate the late Professor Simmi Agnihotri and foster spiritual awakening in the community.

The camp will feature daily sessions from 10 AM to 2 PM, led by Swami Rajendra Das Devacharya Ji Maharaj, a distinguished disciple in the Anant Vibhushit Srimad Jagatguru lineage. The sessions will open with a Kalash Yatra at 9 AM on June 23, and each morning will begin with Shri Ganapati Navgrah Thakur Puja at 8 AM, believed to invoke divine blessings.

Dr. Aastha, an academic herself and daughter of one of the state’s leading political figures, has drawn on her deep personal grief to imbue this event with a healing energy. Her mother, Professor Simmi Agnihotri, a respected educator, passed away in February 2024. Dr. Aastha had previously honored her late mother through spiritual pilgrimage, including a visit to Mata Chintpurni shrine alongside her father .

“Organizing this Katha is a way of keeping my mother’s devotion alive,” Dr. Aastha expressed. “We wish to create a spiritually uplifting environment where families can reconnect with inner peace.” She emphasized that the event is open to all, with bhandara and mahaprasad provided daily, culminating in a Purna Aahuti on June 29.
