A delegation led by social worker Mr. Bipin K. Mahajan and Mrs. Neeti Mahajan, President-elect of Nurpur Municipal Council, submitted a memorandum through the SDO (Civil), Nurpur, to the Project Director of NHAI Palampur. The memorandum urged that instead of a proposed overbridge near Chinwan Road on the under-construction Nurpur Bypass Four-Lane, an at-grade intersection (chowk) should be built.

The delegation highlighted that Chinwan Road is a vital link for residents of wards 2, 4, 5, and 6 of Nurpur town. They pointed out that the nearest entry and exit points on the four-lane are located at Bod and Khushi Nagar, each about 2.5 km away, forcing locals to travel extra distance. This, they argued, would lead to unnecessary consumption of time and fuel, causing inconvenience to the public.

The memorandum requested NHAI to conduct a site inspection, assess technical feasibility, and construct a suitable at-grade intersection with proper safety measures. It further stated that such an arrangement would improve local connectivity and significantly reduce construction costs compared to the proposed overbridge. The issue of stray animals, raised in a previous memorandum led by Mrs. Neeti Mahajan, was also revisited during the discussion.

Present on the occasion were Trade Association President Mr. Ashwini Suri, Mahajan Sabha President Mr. Yogesh Mahajan, Brahmin Sabha President Mr. Inder Sharma, and elected councillors Mrs. Sonia Soga, Mrs. Ekta Mehra, Mrs. Seema Devi, Mrs. Anamika, and Mr. Ashwini Daffa.

Several prominent citizens including Mr. Satish Sharma, Mr. Vijay Sharma, Dr. B.C. Sharma, Mrs. Veena Mahajan, Mrs. Rakhi Mahajan, Mrs. Alka Mahajan, Mr. Rajinder Mahajan, and many other residents of Nurpur also attended the submission.
