On June 22, 2026, the CIA team was on routine patrol in Kandwal, Bhadroya, Indora, and Damtal. While near the railway crossing at Village Tamota, the police received a credible tip-off that Kalpana alias Kappu (27), resident of Tamota village, along with her sister Gulfam alias Rita (32) and brother-in-law Pawan Kumar (36), resident of Balagan village, Dasuha tehsil, Hoshiarpur district (Punjab), were engaged in selling heroin from Kalpana’s residence.

Acting swiftly, the police raided the specified location and recovered 39.14 grams of heroin from the premises. The contraband was immediately taken into police custody.

A case has been registered against the accused under FIR No. 95/2026, Sections 21 and 29 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Indora. All three have been arrested, and further investigation is underway to trace the source of the narcotics and identify forward linkages of the trafficking network.
