Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Repswal today flagged off a special educational tour for children residing in child care institutions across Chamba district. The program, organized under the Chief Minister’s Sukha Aashray Yojana, will run from March 31 to April 7, 2026, with 35 children and 5 officials participating.
Repswal explained that the tour will take the group from Chamba to New Delhi and onward to Daman, offering exposure to historical, educational, and tourist sites. He emphasized that the initiative aims to provide children with practical knowledge and new experiences that will aid their overall development.
According to the itinerary, the group will travel from Chamba to New Delhi today, with a stay at Himachal Bhawan on April 1. On April 2, they will proceed via Surat to Daman. During their stay in Daman, the children will visit industrial units and explore local attractions including Namo Path, Devka Beach, Dudhani Lake, Lion Safari, Nakshatra Van Garden, and Vandhara Garden. Activities such as water sports, night markets, and recreational events are also part of the program.
After completing the Daman leg on April 4, the group will depart for New Delhi on April 5. In the capital, they will tour Rashtrapati Bhavan, India Gate, Chandni Chowk, and other landmarks before returning to Himachal Bhawan on April 6. The team will then head back to Chamba, arriving on April 7. Separate travel arrangements have been made for children from Pangi, who will travel via Manali.
Highlighting the purpose of the tour, Repswal said it is designed to acquaint children with India’s cultural diversity, industrial progress, and historical heritage. He urged the participants to make the most of this opportunity, maintain discipline, and gain valuable experiences during the journey.
The children, brimming with excitement, expressed joy and anticipation for the enriching experience ahead.
