Mandi
In a significant celebration marking the 100th birth anniversary of Sri Sathya Sai Baba, the Hridayawasi Seva Samiti today honoured five institutions of Chhoti Kashi (Mandi) for their exceptional contributions to social welfare, cultural preservation, and national service. The award ceremony was held this morning at Hriday Mandir, Lower Paddal, in the divine presence of spiritual leader Swami Vishuddhanand.
The event formed part of the Samiti’s annual festival, which featured a grand religious programme comprising Mahayagya, Gayatri Path, Shrimad Bhagwat Katha, Sankirtan and a large community bhandara. Hundreds of devotees and community representatives attended the ceremony, celebrating values of devotion and selfless service.
Hridayawasi Seva Samiti — A Commitment to Humanity
The man behind the initiative, Raman Bisht, informed that the Samiti has been providing free meals to patients and attendants at the Zonal Hospital Mandi for the last five years. During this period, the organisation has served over five lakh (500,000) people without charging a single rupee—emerging as a lifeline for families facing medical distress.
This continuous humanitarian effort has set a powerful example of collective compassion in Chhoti Kashi.

Five organisations were honoured for defining human values through consistent and dedicated service:
• Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) — recognised for completing 100 years of impactful national service and contribution to nation-building.
• Vishav Namdhari Sangat of Chhoti Kashi — acknowledged for philanthropic and community empowerment efforts.

Representatives of these institutions received honours on behalf of their organisations. Eminent personalities from the Namdhari Panth were also present and graced the occasion with their blessings and participation.
Dignitaries & Devotion
Several dignitaries from Mandi town attended the ceremony, further elevating the significance of the event. Devotional music, bhajan-kirtan, and the grand bhandara added to the spiritual ambience and community unity.
Speaking on the occasion, a spokesperson of the Samiti reaffirmed that service beyond self is the guiding principle of Hridayawasi Seva Samiti and that future initiatives will continue strengthening public welfare and humanitarian values.
The event reinforced Mandi’s identity as Chhoti Kashi—a centre of faith, culture, and social responsibility.
