The quarterly meeting of the Chaurasi Vyapar Mandal Bharmaur was held on Thursday at Hotel Chaurasi, chaired by senior core committee member Tek Chand Thakur. Office bearers and members of the trade association actively participated in the session.

Ranjit Sharma, President of the Chaurasi Vyapar Mandal, expressed deep concern over the deteriorating condition of National Highway 154A between Chamba and Bharmaur following recent heavy rains. Despite repeated appeals to central and state government representatives, no concrete solution has been implemented. He warned that travel on this route remains hazardous.

Local residents have long demanded an alternative road connecting Bharmaur to the district headquarters and other regions to ensure safer and more reliable access. During this year’s sacred Manimahesh Yatra, both pilgrims and locals faced significant difficulties due to poor road conditions and weak mobile network connectivity. The Mandal urged the local administration and state government to take proactive measures well in advance to prevent similar issues during the 2026 pilgrimage.

The meeting also called for strict enforcement of transfer policies in tribal areas. It was noted that officials transferred from Bharmaur are not being replaced promptly, causing inconvenience to residents seeking public services.

In a gesture of appreciation, the Mandal decided to honor traders who provided free services during recent natural disasters.

The meeting also included extensive discussions on business and regional development issues. Attendees included senior core committee members Naresh Verma, Tek Chand, Jaisi Ram Thakur, Desh Raj; Vice President Azad Zaryal; members Tilak Sharma, Kalu Ram Sharma, Neeraj Mahajan, Sanjay Kumar, Pali Ram, Sanjay Kapoor; General Secretary Mahendra Patial; and members Sumit Thakur, Abhilash Patial, Pappu Thakur, Naveen Thakur, Ravindra Kumar, Vijay, and Bhag Singh Chela.
