The Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony at Government Post Graduate College, Chuwari, was celebrated with great enthusiasm. Himachal Pradesh Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania attended as the Chief Guest and honored students who excelled in academics, sports, cultural, and other fields. The event featured vibrant cultural performances by the college students.
Addressing students, parents, and locals, Speaker Pathania highlighted the state government’s commitment to excellence in education. He emphasized reforms in governance, curriculum design, and institutional accountability to make education more transparent, result-oriented, and student-centric. He noted that rural and remote areas are benefiting significantly from improved access to quality higher education.
Pathania expressed satisfaction over the achievements of Chuwari College and congratulated the administration for its progress. He remarked that despite challenging geography, the Bhatiyat constituency has advanced in development compared to many other regions. Educated youth from this area are making their mark across the state, country, and abroad.
He announced that a mini sports stadium will be constructed in Chuwari this year and completed within one year. He also revealed that nearly ₹300 crore worth of development projects are currently underway in the constituency through the Public Works and Jal Shakti departments.
Major Announcement: Global Skills & Digital University
Pathania informed that the state government has approved the establishment of a Global Skills and Digital University at Mauhal Chalera in Sihunta Tehsil under Bhatiyat constituency. He said the university will strengthen skill-based, vocational, and industry-oriented education, enhancing youth employability, entrepreneurship, and innovation. The institution aims to bridge the gap between education and employment, promote sustainable development, and serve as a model of transformative change.
Inauguration of Girls’ Common Room
The Speaker also inaugurated a newly built Girls’ Common Room at Chuwari College, constructed at a cost of ₹7 lakh. The facility is equipped with modern amenities including seating arrangements, television, RO water purifier, refrigerator, and microwave oven.
Earlier, Principal Dr. Sanjay Singh Pathania presented the college’s annual report, highlighting academic, sports, and cultural achievements along with ongoing development works. The Speaker announced ₹31,000 for cultural programs and ₹11,000 for the college’s talented singer Karan.

The event was attended by former Block Congress Committee President Vijay Kanwar, former Vice Chairman of Chuwari Nagar Panchayat Surender Chadak, Wool Federation Director Ajay Singh, SDM Bhatiyat Manish Soni, Executive Engineer Narendra Chaudhary, officials from Jal Shakti and HPSEBL, BDO Anil Gurada, principals of local colleges, PTA President Satpal, parents, and a large number of residents.
