Chamba Literature Festival to Become a Regular Annual Event – Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Repswal

Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Repswal announced that the Chamba Literature Festival will now be held as a regular annual event under the aegis of Government Postgraduate College, Chamba. He made this announcement while addressing a special ceremony at Bachat Bhawan, where he honored officials, former officers, faculty members, students, and press representatives who played a vital role in the successful organization of the festival.

In his remarks, Mr. Repswal assured full support from the district administration and suggested the registration of an institution to ensure continuity of the festival. He also called upon retired Joint Director of Education, Dr. Vidyasagar Sharma, to provide active guidance and cooperation, emphasizing greater local participation in future editions.

Highlighting the importance of engaging students in literary activities, the Deputy Commissioner directed the college management to prepare an annual calendar of inter-college literary events at the district level. He further instructed the District Language Officer to ensure the organization of diverse literary programs across different college campuses in Chamba.

Expressing gratitude to the college administration, faculty, students, and the organizing team, Mr. Repswal noted that all arrangements for visiting authors were carried out smoothly, contributing to the success of the festival. He also extended best wishes to students for their upcoming examinations.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Amit Mehra congratulated the organizing committee and urged students and budding writers to submit their creative works and poetry recitations to the college administration and District Language Officer. He emphasized that this initiative would provide a strong digital platform for creative expression, while keeping the festival’s social media presence vibrant and engaging.

The program also featured reflections from Assistant Commissioner Rahul Dhiman, retired Joint Director of Education Dr. Vidyasagar Sharma, College Principal Dr. Rakesh Rathore, Head of Hindi Department Dr. Prashant Raman Ravi, and District Language Officer Tukesh Sharma.

Students including Shivani, Afreen Malik, Chintan Kumar, Pranjal, Mamta, Kajal, and Rohit Kumar shared their experiences of the festival. The event witnessed the participation of departmental officials, faculty heads, and a large number of students.
