A devastating fire broke out in Lunna locality of the Bharmour subdivision in Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh late on Wednesday (April 2, 2025) night, destroying four shops and a commercial vehicle.
The blaze resulted in significant financial losses for the affected persons, with damages running into lakhs of rupees. The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
On Wednesday night, smoke began to rise from the shops, which soon escalated into a fierce blaze. Villagers immediately rushed to the site in an attempt to extinguish the fire and also informed the fire department.’

Upon receiving the distress call, a team from the Fire Department arrived and worked alongside the locals to control the flames. However, by the time the fire was brought under control, four shops had already been reduced to ashes.
Following the incident, a joint team from the revenue department and local administration headed to the scene on Thursday to assess the damage.

The team will compile a report on the losses, which will be submitted to the Bharmour administration. Sub-Divisional Magistrate Kulveer Singh confirmed that the fire had destroyed three shops and one commercial vehicle. However, the cause of the fire remains unknown.
