A private bus traveling from Sihunta to Chubadi via Samot suddenly slipped off the road and fell into a nearby nala (stream/gorge) today morning around 8:30 AM, officials confirmed.
According to initial reports, the bus was parked near the taxi stand in Samot market to pick up passengers when it unexpectedly rolled downhill into the nala. Fortunately, no passengers were inside the bus at the time, and there were no injuries or loss of life.
The bus driver and conductor had parked the vehicle and stepped out when the bus began moving toward the gorge. The bus was supposed to travel from Sihunta to Tikri, Samot and then Chubadi. The driver was waiting for another bus at the taxi stand when the incident occurred.
SDM Bhatiyat Reaches Scene; Incident Happened Without Any Passengers
As soon as the accident was reported, SDM Bhatiyat rushed to the spot to assess the situation. Authorities confirmed that the bus was empty and the incident could have resulted in a major disaster if passengers had been onboard.
