Voicing strong opposition to the continuous hike in petrol and diesel prices, the Dharamshala Block Congress today held a massive protest against the central government. Led by Pradesh General Secretary Devendra Jaggi and Block Congress President Harbhajan Singh, party workers raised slogans and expressed public anger over the burden of inflation.

Following the demonstration, a Congress delegation submitted a memorandum to the Hon’ble President through Kangra Deputy Commissioner Hemraj Bairwa, demanding immediate rollback of the fuel price hike.

Jaggi stated that the rising fuel costs are severely impacting daily life, with transportation and essential commodities becoming more expensive, thereby straining household budgets. He warned that if the government fails to take concrete steps to control prices and reduce inflation, the Congress will intensify its agitation with broader public participation.

Harbhajan Singh, in the memorandum, highlighted that the government’s policies are disproportionately affecting the middle class, laborers, and poor families. He stressed that farmers, small traders, and daily wage earners are facing mounting economic hardships due to increased transportation and farming costs.

Local leaders, including former Mayor Neenu Sharma and several Congress candidates from municipal wards, joined the protest, reaffirming that the party will continue to raise people’s issues and hold the government accountable.
