BJP state media convenor Karan Nanda strongly reacted to the protest rally organised by Youth Congress, stating that the people of the country have already given a fitting reply to Congress’s “vote thief” campaign in the recently held elections.
Nanda highlighted that the Congress, once the oldest national party, was reduced to just six seats in Bihar, reflecting its declining popularity and public support. He warned that if this trend continues, the party may soon vanish from the country’s political landscape.
Criticizing Congress, Nanda recalled the Emergency of 1975, calling it the “biggest theft of citizens’ rights” and said the nation can never forget such actions. He accused Congress of repeatedly taking steps that embarrassed India internationally and of pursuing divisive politics based on caste, community, and region, akin to the colonial “divide and rule” policy.
He further alleged that Congress leaders are “masters of falsehood,” remarking that “if there were an Olympic competition for lying, Congress leaders would surely win the gold medal.” He dismissed allegations of BJP leaders and their families being double voters as baseless and politically motivated, aimed only at tarnishing the BJP’s image.
On the issue of remarks made against the Governor of Himachal Pradesh, Nanda condemned Congress’s statements, stressing that the Governor holds a constitutional position and has never misused his powers. He said attempts to politicize the office are unfortunate and unacceptable. Nanda demanded that Congress issue a public apology before the people for its comments on the Governor.
