As the Himachal Pradesh government prepares to celebrate its one-year anniversary on December 11, the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced plans to stage protests on the same day. BJP alleges that the Congress-led state government has failed in its one-year term, citing issues such as deteriorating law and order, rising prices of essential commodities, and unfulfilled promises.

Dr. Rajeev Bindal, BJP state president, accused the Congress government of misleading the public with false guarantees. He highlighted concerns about a breakdown in law and order, the rapid spread of the drug mafia, and the burden of inflation on the citizens. Bindal also criticized the government for closing 1,500 institutions opened during the previous BJP regime, calling the promises of jobs and financial assistance to unemployed youth, women, and farmers as fraudulent.

The BJP has announced plans for statewide protests on December 11, with prominent leaders like former Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal and Jai Ram Thakur leading the demonstrations. The opposition aims to highlight what they consider a dark chapter in the state’s development during the one-year rule of the Congress government.
