Dharamshala: Himachal’s former Assembly Speaker and Sulah MLA, Vipin Singh Parmar, emphasized that the party prioritizes meritocracy over the inheritance of private property.
Parmar’s statement comes amid a political atmosphere charged with defections from the Congress to the BJP in Himachal Pradesh.
Parmar, addressing media persons, asserted that the BJP does not consider the private wealth of individuals as a criterion for ticket allocation. Instead, he highlighted the party’s commitment to selecting candidates based on their competence and ability to serve effectively in their respective constituencies. This approach, he noted, ensures that the party’s representatives are capable of fulfilling their responsibilities with integrity and dedication.
The recent defections of six Congress MLAs to the BJP has stirred political discourse in the state, with Parmar indicating a warm reception for these newcomers within the party fold. He announced plans for grand receptions in Dharamshala for Sudhir Sharma and others who have joined or are expected to join BJP.
