The Bharmour BJP Mandal, supported by various other party units, staged a massive “Aakrosh Rally” (protest rally) today against the alleged anti-people policies of the Congress-led Himachal Pradesh government. Led by Bharmour-Pangi MLA Dr. Janak Raj, the protesters submitted a detailed memorandum to the Chief Minister through the Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Bharmour, demanding immediate solutions to the region’s burning issues.

Key Grievances Highlighted:

  • Crumbling Infrastructure: The condition of National Highway 154-A was described as “pitiful.” Frequent landslides, potholes, and narrow stretches have made travel hazardous. With the upcoming pilgrimage and tourist season, the BJP demanded urgent repairs.
  • Utility Crisis: The delegation raised concerns over frequent power outages in several villages and a deepening drinking water crisis that worsens during the summer months.
  • Healthcare & Education: The memorandum noted a severe shortage of specialist doctors and essential equipment in local health centers, forcing patients to travel long distances. Similarly, the education sector is struggling due to a lack of teachers and basic infrastructure.
  • Tourism & Agriculture: Lack of security, cleanliness, and facilities at tourist spots is hurting the local economy. Meanwhile, farmers reported inadequate access to irrigation, quality seeds, fertilizers, and proper marketing channels.

Local Employment and Governance Issues

MLA Dr. Janak Raj emphasized that local residents are not receiving adequate employment or compensation from the hydroelectric projects operating in the region. He also pointed out:

  • A large number of vacant posts across various government departments.
  • Rising complaints regarding corruption in local administration.

“The people of Bharmour-Pangi are suffering due to the government’s apathy. We urge the Chief Minister to prioritize these fundamental issues—from roads to healthcare—to provide much-needed relief to the public.” — Dr. Janak Raj, MLA.

The rally saw significant participation from BJP workers and local residents. The memorandum addressed to Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu warns of continued agitation if the highlighted problems are not resolved promptly.
