A cross-border love story became the talk of the town in Chamba on Saturday, as a Bangladeshi woman and an Indian man tied the knot in a simple yet heartwarming ceremony.

The wedding took place at Chougan No. 5 near the Medical College Hospital in Chamba. The groom, hailing from Salooni tehsil, exchanged garlands with his bride in the presence of his father, brother, and other relatives.

The couple revealed that their journey began in Delhi, where the groom runs a hotel. The bride had visited the hotel, and over three months of frequent meetings, the two fell in love. They eventually decided to solemnize their relationship in Chamba.

The groom’s father expressed joy, saying, “She may be called our daughter-in-law, but to us she is now a daughter of the family.” His brother added that the family believes in humanity above caste and religion, and since the couple truly love each other, they wholeheartedly support the marriage.

Relatives and villagers also welcomed the union, celebrating the couple’s decision as a symbol of love and acceptance across borders.
