Kangra : Returning from an overseas visit, BJP MP and former Union Minister Anurag Thakur launched a sharp political offensive against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, accusing him of engaging in a politics rooted in negativity and damaging national interests for political gain.
“Rahul Gandhi’s Politics Has Become Entirely Negative”: Anurag Thakur
Speaking to the media after receiving a grand welcome at Kangra Airport and later in Dehra, Thakur said, “Rahul Gandhi’s politics is now based entirely on negativity. When Indian MPs were defending the country’s image on international platforms, Rahul Gandhi and the Congress were sitting in India criticizing the nation.”
He also accused Gandhi of repeatedly undermining the armed forces. “It’s not the first time he has questioned the bravery of our soldiers. His statements have, time and again, given Pakistan verbal ammunition to target India internationally,” Thakur alleged. “His real pain is that he’s out of power. Just like a fish struggles without water, Rahul Gandhi is struggling for power.”

India Will Hit Back Hard: Stern Warning to Pakistan
Turning his focus to national security, Thakur warned Pakistan of grave consequences if it continues to harbor terrorism. “India today gives a befitting reply to every terrorist attack, and will continue to do so. Pakistan is warned to shut down all terror activities operating from its soil—or face strict consequences,” he said.
He further added that many nations have now openly condemned Pakistan for its involvement in cross-border terrorism.
Grand Welcome on Return to Kangra
Thakur, who returned to Himachal Pradesh after an international tour, was welcomed by large gatherings of BJP workers. Celebrations were held at Kangra Airport and later in Dehra, where party supporters greeted him with enthusiasm.
“Modi Government Achieved What the British Couldn’t”
Highlighting developmental milestones under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Thakur said, “The Modi government has done what even the British couldn’t accomplish. In Jammu & Kashmir, the world’s tallest railway bridge—taller than the Eiffel Tower—has now been constructed, connecting the valley like never before.”
He praised the Modi administration for infrastructure development, national security reforms, and global diplomatic success.
Stadium Tragedy Demands Accountability
Reacting to the recent Chinnamai Stadium accident, Thakur stressed the need for a thorough investigation. “The safety of sports fans is paramount. The incident must be probed so that such tragedies are not repeated in the future,” he said.
“UPA Gave Loans and Protection to Vijay Mallya”
On the issue of economic fugitives, Thakur pointed out that fugitive businessman Vijay Mallya received large-scale loans during the UPA regime, which also offered him political shelter. “It is the Modi government that is now actively working to bring such offenders back to India,” he added.
