On the solemn occasion of Shaheedi Diwas, the town of Nurpur witnessed an inspiring act of service and patriotism. A massive blood donation camp organized by the Nurpur Blood Donors Club at Rana Farm, Baudh (Nurpur), saw 421 volunteers come forward to donate blood in tribute to the martyrs Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, and Sukhdev.
The event was inaugurated by SDM Arun Sharma and presided over by the mother of martyred commando Jatin Dhiman. Floral tributes were offered to the portraits of the martyrs, and the atmosphere was charged with patriotic spirit and collective devotion.
From 10 AM onwards, long queues of donors began forming, with youth showing exceptional enthusiasm. Notably, 21 women participated in the camp, sending a powerful message of social responsibility and inclusion.
To support the donors, stalls offering fruits, juice, coffee, water, and jalebi were set up, along with a well-organized meal arrangement. Every detail was carefully managed, making the camp a model of community service.
SDM Arun Sharma praised the efforts of the Nurpur Blood Donors Club, calling the turnout a reflection of public awareness and commitment to humanitarian values. Club President Rajeev Pathania emphasized that blood donation is the highest form of giving, as it directly saves lives. He urged all healthy individuals to make regular blood donation a personal responsibility.
This was the club’s 43rd blood donation camp since its inception in December 2015. To date, the organization has collected over 10,500 units of blood—a remarkable achievement driven by Nurpur’s youth.
Medical teams from Tanda Medical College and Civil Hospital Pathankot collected 161 and 260 units respectively. In his closing remarks, Rajeev Pathania thanked all donors and supporters, reaffirming the club’s commitment to continuing such service initiatives.
This camp was not just an event—it was a living testament to social awareness, unity, and the spirit of sacrifice. It proved that when people unite for a noble cause, every goal becomes achievable.
