Noble act that saves lives
In her address, CEO Mabel Christian highlighted the importance of voluntary blood donation and applauded the selfless participation of the local community.
“The response has been overwhelming and deeply inspiring. From local men and women to Army personnel, many came forward to donate blood voluntarily. Blood donation is not just a noble act, it’s a sacred duty — a single unit of blood can save up to three to four lives. It reflects the compassion and humanity within our community,” a participant said.
In his message, chief guest Vinod Mahajan said: “‘Rakt daan maha daan hai’ (no service is greater than saving a life). Blood donation is the highest form of giving and I commend the Cantonment Board for motivating people to come forward for this life-saving cause. Such camps should be held regularly to ensure a steady blood supply during emergencies.”
A total of 40 donors participated, contributing 40 units of blood during the day-long camp. The event was organised in collaboration with the medical team from Pt Jawaharlal Nehru Government Medical College & Hospital, Chamba, under the supervision of the Chief Medical Officer, Chamba.
