Reaffirming its commitment to delivering better healthcare facilities in remote areas of Himachal Pradesh, NHPC Regional Office Banikhet organized a specialist medical camp under its Corporate Social Responsibility–Sustainable Development (CSR–SD) initiative at Government Primary School, Baily, Gram Panchayat Baily, District Chamba. The camp was held in collaboration with Amandeep Hospital, Pathankot.
The camp provided expert consultations in orthopedics, pediatrics, and general medicine, ensuring specialized care for both children and adults. Free diagnostic tests, including blood examinations, were conducted, and essential medicines prescribed by doctors were distributed on the spot at no cost, offering significant relief to economically weaker sections of the community.
The camp was formally inaugurated by Mr. Rajil Vyas, Executive Director, NHPC Regional Office Banikhet, in the presence of Dr. Ranveer Singh Rathi, General Manager (Medical Services), and senior officials of the regional office. Mr. Vyas personally distributed medicines to patients, underscoring NHPC’s dedication to community welfare.
A total of 63 individuals from Baily and nearby villages benefited from the camp through health check-ups, medical advice, diagnostic tests, and free medicines.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Vyas highlighted NHPC’s role in strengthening healthcare access in Chamba’s remote mountainous regions. He emphasized that such camps serve as a “lifeline” for communities where modern medical facilities are often inaccessible due to difficult terrain and long distances. He assured that NHPC will continue to organize similar specialist medical camps in other far-flung areas of Chamba, ensuring that no citizen is deprived of healthcare due to geographical barriers.
Local Panchayat representatives and villagers expressed heartfelt gratitude to NHPC for organizing the camp and hoped that such welfare initiatives would continue in the future.
