Thural – Amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan, the health department in Thural, Kangra, has intensified its emergency preparedness efforts. A high-level meeting was convened on Thursday to ensure readiness for any crisis.
Key Directives from the Meeting:
- 24/7 Availability: Thural Block Medical Officer (BMO), Dr. Anita, instructed all health department employees to keep their phones switched on at all times for immediate response.
- Emergency Supplies: Staff were directed to stock first-aid kits, oxygen equipment, essential medicines, and other critical medical tools to handle potential emergencies.
- Rapid Response Teams: Medical personnel were advised to be on standby for quick deployment in case of any border-related incidents affecting civilians.
- Coordination with Authorities: The health department will work closely with local administration and security forces to ensure swift medical assistance if required.
The meeting comes in response to Pakistan’s ceasefire violations and missile attack attempts, which were successfully intercepted by India’s defense systems. With border tensions escalating, the Himachal Pradesh government is taking proactive measures to safeguard public health and security.
With tensions high following India’s recent ‘Operation Sindoor’ and increased military alertness in northern states, including Himachal Pradesh, security has been intensified. In the wake of growing ceasefire violations and border tension, particularly in northern states, Himachal Pradesh has taken significant precautions. The airports in Shimla, Kangra and Kullu have been temporarily shut and border vigilance with China and Tibet has been intensified.The state government has acted swiftly on a central advisory to suspend civilian air travel across Himachal Pradesh.
Gaggal Airport in Kangra, Jubberhatti Airport near Shimla and Bhuntar airport in Kullu have been closed to the public until further notice. Gaggal will now operate only for military purposes.The Himachal administration has issued instructions to maintain adequate stockpiles of food and essential goods in all border districts.
The public has been urged to remain calm but alert. Authorities have also been asked to monitor misinformation campaigns and social media propaganda likely to originate from across the border.
