Pathiyar: To mark World Environment Day, Holyfaith Senior Secondary School at Pathiar in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh organised a series of activities aimed at raising environmental awareness among students.
The school hosted poster-making, poetry recitation and declamation competitions, with enthusiastic participation from students of Classes 6 to 10+2 conducted at the house level.
Adding a creative touch to the celebration, students from Classes 1 to 5 dressed up as trees, conveying the importance of trees and green cover through short skits and interactive presentations to both peers and teachers.
In the poetry recitation competition, Swati from Venus House secured the first position, while Anshika from Jupiter House stood second. The speech competition saw Rhythm from Saturn House claim first prize, followed by Ashima from Jupiter House in the second place.
In the poster-making contest, Ishita emerged as the winner, with Hitanshi securing the second position, showcasing their artistic interpretations of environmental themes.
Students from Classes 9 to 12 participated in a rally, raising slogans, collecting litter and spreading messages on the importance of tree conservation and keeping the environment clean. The rally served as a hands-on awareness drive, engaging the community and reinforcing the importance of environmental responsibility.
School Director Deepak Sood and Principal Shashi Sood congratulated the winners and participants. They encouraged students to continue being active guardians of the environment and administered an oath to maintain cleanliness and protect nature.
