Kangra: In a strong message of environmental responsibility, a tree plantation drive was organised at the Judicial Complex in Kangra.
The initiative was led by the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (ACJM) and the Judicial First Class Magistrate of Kangra, who planted a variety of saplings within the premises, underscoring the urgent need for ecological preservation.
Speaking on the occasion, the judicial officers emphasised that trees were the foundation of life, serving as a vital source of oxygen, shade and ecological balance.
“Clean air and a healthy environment are not luxuries but necessities,” they remarked, urging everyone to plant and nurture trees as a way of contributing to the welfare of both present and future generations.
During the programme, participants were administered a pledge to care for the saplings and remain committed to protecting the environment. The officers reminded attendees that environmental protection is a shared responsibility and a duty enshrined in our collective values.
Employees of the court, along with several advocates, also participated in the drive. Their involvement highlighted how institutions and individuals alike can join hands to combat environmental challenges.
The plantation drive carried a broader message: in the face of rising concerns such as deforestation, climate change, and pollution, small initiatives can spark meaningful change. Planting a tree today, the officers noted, is a gift to the coming generations—a living testament to human responsibility toward nature.
