Palampur — A Mega Agriculture Outreach Program was successfully held at Bhawarna’s Community Hall on Friday, organized by the Zonal Office of Punjab National Bank (PNB), Dharamshala. The initiative aimed to raise awareness among farmers about financial tools and welfare schemes designed to strengthen rural livelihoods.

Chief General Manager Mr. Sunil Agarwal from PNB’s Head Office was present for the event, highlighting the bank’s commitment to agricultural growth. From the Dharamshala Zonal Office, Zonal Head Mr. Sanjay Dhar and Deputy Zonal Head Mr. Bharat Thakur joined alongside agricultural officers to guide attendees on key schemes.

Farmers received detailed insights into financial support programs, including the Kisan Credit Card (KCC), Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY), PM-KUSUM, and Kisan Samriddhi Yojana. In addition, the bank highlighted initiatives supporting animal husbandry, fisheries, Self-Help Groups (SHGs), and various social security schemes, reinforcing its goal of fostering financial independence and agricultural resilience.

A noteworthy feature of the program was the inclusion of a health check-up camp organized by M Swasthya, promoting well-being alongside financial empowerment.

The outreach blended education with access, enabling farmers to interact directly with banking officials, resolve queries, and apply for schemes. PNB’s message focused on making farmers self-reliant, informed, and ready to embrace modern agricultural practices with robust financial backing.

The event reflected a growing synergy between financial institutions and grassroots communities, empowering farmers through knowledge, access, and care. Bhawarna’s gathering is part of a larger movement to bridge the gap between policy and rural practice, nurturing agricultural strength in Himachal Pradesh and beyond.
