A consignment of 6,000 fruit saplings reached the Horticulture Department’s extension centres in the tribal sub-division of Bharmour on Sunday evening.
Sharing the information, Horticulture Department Officer Bharmour, Dr. Manohar Lal, said that the saplings arrived at the departmental extension centres on Sunday evening and were dispatched on Monday to various centres across the region, including Runkothi, Bharmour, Garola, Holi, Khani, and Badgram. This has been done to ensure that local orchardists can conveniently obtain saplings from their nearest extension centre.
He further informed that saplings of different fruit varieties such as Japanese fruit (Persimmon), Pear, Plum, Peach, Pomegranate, Kiwi, Cherry, and Apple are available at the extension centres. Orchardists can collect these saplings from the departmental centres on any working day, as this is considered the most suitable time for plantation.
