Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu announced that the Himachal Pradesh government will soon introduce major reforms in the education sector. Special instructors for English and Mathematics will be recruited in government schools being brought under the CBSE curriculum, with the recruitment process set to begin shortly.
Addressing a public meeting after inaugurating the Gugga Dham and park, constructed at a cost of around ₹60 lakh in his ancestral village Bhawran (Amlehar Gram Panchayat, Nadaun constituency, Hamirpur district), the Chief Minister said that Amlehar school has also been granted CBSE status. He added that work on the Rajiv Gandhi Day Boarding School is progressing rapidly, with classes expected to commence next year. Multiple subjects will be introduced in four selected schools, including Amlehar, to allow students to choose courses according to their interests.
Focus on Natural Farming and Renewable Energy
Appealing to farmers to adopt natural farming, the Chief Minister highlighted that the government is offering attractive prices for crops grown through this method. Turmeric cultivated naturally is being purchased at ₹90 per kg, enabling farmers to earn up to ₹3 lakh from five kanals of land.
He further announced subsidies for setting up solar plants on barren land. Young entrepreneurs can earn a net profit of up to ₹3 lakh annually by installing solar plants on four kanals of land.
Drinking Water Schemes
The Chief Minister also informed that nearly ₹100 crore is being invested in drinking water schemes in the Nadaun constituency. To ensure safe water supply, advanced UV technology and ozonation processes are being used instead of bleaching powder.
Inaugurations and Development Works
During his visit, CM Sukhu inaugurated the Shri Vaikunth Dham and park in Pakhrol village (Gauna Gram Panchayat), built at a cost of ₹25 lakh, and listened to local grievances. He also unveiled the renovated statue and memorial of freedom fighter Inderpal at Inderpal Chowk in Nadaun town, recently beautified by the Municipal Council.
Local Panchayat head Sonia Thakur welcomed the Chief Minister and presented details of ongoing development projects.
