Himachal Pradesh Police Service officer and Deputy Superintendent of Police Nisha Kumari addressed a packed gathering of students from the Kangra and Chamba districts at the Dharamshala College auditorium on Sunday. The event was organised jointly by The Newz Radar and Guru Study Centre. Students who had performed well in a mock test conducted by Guru Study Centre were honoured during the programme.
Addressing the students, DSP Nisha Kumari said that there are numerous opportunities available today for those who remain focused on their studies and work hard towards their goals. She emphasised that success is not confined to a single career path and encouraged students to explore different options based on their interests and abilities.
She warned students against drug abuse, calling it the biggest roadblock in a student’s life. She said that drugs can destroy careers, families, and futures, and urged students to stay away from all forms of addiction. According to her, self-discipline and strong moral values play a key role in shaping a successful life.
DSP Nisha Kumari also advised students to avoid distractions and unhealthy temptations that can divert them from their academic and personal goals. She said that if students protect themselves from negative influences and remain committed to their studies, success is certain. She highlighted that student life is a crucial phase when habits are formed and life direction is determined.
Speaking on changing career trends, she noted that many young people are now opting for opportunities in the private sector, including startups and emerging fields, instead of limiting themselves only to government jobs. She encouraged students to adapt to changing times, build relevant skills, and remain open to new possibilities.
The organisers stated that The NEwz Radar regularly conducts such student-focused programmes to boost the morale of students who are serious about their studies. The event concluded with the felicitation of successful students, leaving them motivated and inspired to pursue academic excellence and a disciplined lifestyle.
