As part of Road Safety Month, the Department of Health and Family Welfare, District Kangra, organised a First Aid and CPR training programme at the 2nd IRF Battalion, SCO, aimed at strengthening emergency response skills among frontline personnel.
- Participation: Around 130 police personnel and SDRF employees took part in the training, which was held in two sessions — morning and evening — to ensure effective participation and hands-on practice.
- Training Focus: Participants received practical instruction in Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), first aid techniques, management of choking, and immediate response during medical emergencies.
- Certification: All participants were awarded First Aid and CPR certificates upon successful completion.
- Resource Persons: The programme was conducted by Dr. Vivek (MD Anaesthesia) and Dr. Aksha (Pulmonary Medicine Specialist) from Zonal Hospital Dharamshala, along with Dr. Mahima from the CMO Office, Dharamshala. Coordination was handled by Deepak, Training Coordinator (Road Safety).
- Future Plans: CMO Kangra, Dr. Vivek Karol, announced that more such training programmes will be organised during Road Safety Month to enhance road safety awareness and emergency preparedness among first responders.
