On January 3, 2026, the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) Dharamshala, District Kangra, achieved a major success during a naka/checkpoint operation at Jasur Chowk. The team apprehended two individuals and recovered 26.63 grams of heroin (chitta) from their possession.
The accused have been identified as:
- Rohit Kumar alias Chikki, son of Ratan Lal, resident of Model Town, Mud Hut Colony, District Pathankot (Punjab)
- Shivam, son of Deepak, resident of Dahki Municipal Colony, District Pathankot (Punjab)
A case has been registered at Police Station Nurpur under FIR No. 09/26 dated 03.01.2026, under Sections 21 and 29 of the NDPS Act. Both accused have been taken into custody, and further investigation is underway.
Authorities confirmed that the probe will also focus on uncovering deeper links to the wider drug trafficking network.
