As part of the ongoing anti-narcotics and anti-illicit liquor campaign, Nurpur Police District carried out a successful operation on January 3, 2026. During a naka/checkpoint near Chaugan, close to the IPH Office in Nurpur, police intercepted a vehicle (registration number HP33B-5089) and recovered 8 cases (total 96 bottles) of country liquor.
The accused has been identified as:
- Amit Kumar, son of Mohan Lal, resident of Sunera, village Kopra, Tehsil Nurpur, District Kangra, Himachal Pradesh.
He was arrested on the spot, and a case has been registered at Police Station Nurpur under Section 39(1)A of the HP Excise Act. Authorities confirmed that further proceedings are being carried out as per legal provisions.
